Ethiopia 2020 Trip – Braden Black

Donate to Braden’s Trip!

Hey guys! I have been given an amazing opportunity to go on my first missions trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this summer with Awake and Alive!

Awake and Alive was created by my mother, Danielle Black, and her good friend Jolene Shrock. Both of them have adopted from Ethiopia. The organization started by opening a school in a slum community called Kechene within Addis. Originally, 35 of the poorest children were able to attend. Now, over 200 kids attend the kindergarten and tutorial program! The staff is entirely Ethiopian, and they provide the 4-7 year old kids with an education, medical care, and two meals a day! The older kids at the after school program receive extra academic help after their school day as well as medical care and food. While I am there, I will be teaching English at Bright Future Academy. I will also get the chance to volunteer at the orphanage nearby, go on home visits with the students, and spread the love of Jesus throughout the entire trip!

I have been wanting to go on a trip like this for a while now. I believe it will be an unforgettable experience that will stick with me for many years to come. I feel like I am being called to do this, I believe it is the next step in my own faith journey to be able to spread Hope and Love to kids who could use more of it. I would be incredibly honored if you were willing to donate. Even the smallest amount will work wonders to support me in preparing for this trip. Thank you for your consideration! 🙂
